Neofinetia falcata (recently renamed Vanda falcata) was one of my first orchid species I had in my collection over 25 years ago and still one of my top favorites. It is one of the first orchid species that was kept as a potted orchid in (Asian) culture. Furthermore it is a species with a long history in Eastern and specially Japanese culture. Some of the varieties available today are over 400 years old! The respect and devotion that specially the Japanese have for these and other plants, encourages many Western people to show the same respect and devotion for this little wonders.
